Artenax is a beautifully curated space for handmade contemporary art and British design – the kind of gallery where every piece has been personally chosen, and that care is felt the moment you step inside. I am genuinely pleased to have my work included here, alongside an exceptional collection of makers and artists who share a commitment to craft, quality, and creative individuality.
My paintings sit naturally within this setting. Whether you are drawn in by colour, texture or quiet mood, Artenax offers the kind of unhurried browsing that lets a piece find you, rather than the other way around. The gallery champions living artists and independent makers, and that spirit of genuine, personal selection runs through everything on show.

Waltz of the Hummingbird

Waltz of the Hummingbird began with the idea of a single suspended moment – that weightless pause when a hummingbird holds perfectly still within all that motion. Layers of acrylic and ink build gradually across the surface, one over another, until the garden seems to hum with its own quiet life: wildflowers pressing toward the light, colour bleeding into colour, the composition finding its own rhythm as it grows.
There is something almost musical about the way the painting moves. The title came naturally – not imposed, but recognised. A waltz has that same quality of flow within structure, grace within energy, and the hummingbird embodies it completely.
The distressed white frame was chosen deliberately. It holds the warmth of the painting without competing with it, giving the work a soft, finished presence that feels at home in almost any space -whether that is a quiet corner that needs lifting, or a wall that is simply waiting for something alive.
